A holiday in Keswick

Keswick is one of the best known towns in the Lake District and is a repeat destination year after year from some holiday makers. Keswick is perfectly placed in many ways for the perfect Lake District holiday. You will find that Derwentwater is only a short distance away and this is a delight. The sort of place that will keep the whole family happy.

Keswick itself is a delightful market town which has stood the test of time. Despite the fact that there has been some development over the years, the heart of this little town has remained, and you will still delight walking up the main street seeing all of the older properties in the town. The town actually dates from 1276, and you can see this in some of the older buildings in the town which still remain.

There is good shopping facilities in the town of the type you would expect to find in a place that is so geared up for tourism. There are obviously a few multi nationals to keep the locals going, but a lot of the shopping space is given up to some delightful gift shops and the like.

There is an enormous amount to do in and around Keswick, and indeed the 4000 year old Castlerigg Stone Circle is very near by indeed, and is quite a sight to behold. To find out if there is anywhere in this delightful town for you to stay during the holiday season, you should search for online.
